Gustavo Oviedo France, b. 1981

Avid diver, muralist, videographer and environmentalist, his art has evolved from early graffiti roots to highly colorful, biomorphic-oriented forms inspired by his love of the sea. Gustavo’s commitment to the environment and his deep appreciation of marine life are reflected in the organic forms of his paintings and sculptures. Waves of bold colors flow as visual symphonies of life in his recent solo shows “Lucid Dreams” 2022 at MTN Space Gallery in Lake Worth, “Symbiosis” 2020 at the Museum of Graffiti and “Biomorphic” 2021 at the Private Gallery in Wynwood, Miami.

His body of work encompasses numerous group and solo expositions during the last two decades, some private (Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science, Chotto Matte Miami, SLS Cancun Hotel, Shelborne Hotel, The Palace Bar, The Standard Hotel, The Marseilles Hotel in Miami and Vicolo della Rifezione and Villa Ada commission in Sardinia), other corporate (Stella Artois, Xerox, Louis Vuitton). He participated in many art talks and workshops organized by the Young at Art Museum and at the De La Cruz Collection. His public commissions (Atlantic Council’s Adrienne Arsht-Rockefeller Foundation Resilience Center, Miami-Dade County, Wynwood Walls and Miami-Dade Permanent Public Library Collection) are always signed with the artist’s distinctive moniker “131”, which is part of his legacy.
